/‘nju:/ Collective

Avatar: Soraya Aouad Soraya Aouad

Your project in two lines:
/’nju:/ Collective creates experiences that bring people together around movement, music, culture, and local stakeholders. Our goal is to build an active community by fostering connections and highlighting the businesses, brands, and venues that bring the Nyon region to life.
The goal of your project
Our goal is to create accessible experiences that inspire residents to get active, meet new people, and discover the local stakeholders who bring the region to life. Each event is designed to foster connections, support the local economy, and offer a high-quality experience centered on movement, music, camaraderie, and discovery. In this way, we aim to help make Nyon a city where it’s easy to build connections around shared interests. By engaging different neighborhoods and collaborating with local cafés, studios, shops, brands, and cultural venues, the project helps energize local life, encourages people to support local businesses, and strengthens residents’ sense of belonging to their town.
Your project in detail:

We aim to foster a modern, inclusive, and welcoming culture of movement in Nyon, where physical activity becomes a means of meeting people, discovering new things, and sharing experiences.

Today, many people want to be more active and meet new people, but existing programs are often performance-oriented or fail to foster genuine social connections. We want to offer accessible experiences that make people want to come back. In a world where opportunities to form spontaneous social connections are becoming rarer, these experiences play an essential role in a city’s well-being and appeal.

We propose designing a series of modular and recognizable experiences centered around movement. Each event combines physical activity, camaraderie, local exploration, and a musical atmosphere to create experiences that participants will want to return to.

Although running is one of our primary formats, /‘nju:/ Collective is not limited to a running club. What makes /‘nju:/ Collective unique is its ability to connect sports, community, culture, and the local economy within a single experience. Running isn’t an end in itself; it becomes the starting point for a social, cultural, and local experience.

The formats we offer:

  • Sports and movement activities: accessible events open to all skill levels.

  • Morning coffee gatherings: friendly get-togethers that combine movement, a warm welcome, coffee, and socializing. For example, RUN × COFFEE.

  • Events blending sports and wellness: hybrid formats combining running, mobility, strength training, or wellness practices. For example, RUN × PILATES.

  • Local cultural collaborations: initiatives that connect movement, music, cultural venues, or creative initiatives in the region. For example, RUN × CULTURE.

Each experience is built on four pillars:

  • Movement: an accessible, inclusive format open to all skill levels.

  • Community: a time for welcoming participants and socializing before, during, or after the activity.

  • Atmosphere: a musical, visual, and sensory identity that makes each event appealing.

  • Local discovery: showcasing a café, studio, shop, cultural venue, brand, or local initiative.

The experiences will take place in different neighborhoods of Nyon, in collaboration with local cafés, studios, shops, cultural venues, and brands. Each event will be tailored to the venue and partner to offer a variety of formats throughout the year. The formats will evolve according to the seasons, the partners, and the community’s interests.

The project is built on a strong visual identity and digital communication to create a genuine community ritual in Nyon.

The project originated in Nyon and is intended to grow there sustainably, in collaboration with local stakeholders and for the benefit of residents.
