Your project in two lines:
“Pages” is a vibrant hub for cultural exchange, where books, languages, and human interaction build bridges between the residents of Nyon and people from elsewhere. Open to everyone, this project offers books in multiple languages, an inclusive environment, regular events, strong local roots, and collaborations with public and private institutions. Our goal is to create a simple, warm, and welcoming space where cultural diversity becomes a shared asset and where everyone—children, parents, or newcomers—can find their place through reading, dialogue, and connection.
The Goal of Your Project
The goal of Pages is to create an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming cultural and intercultural space in Nyon that promotes reading, multilingualism, integration, and social connections. The project aims to provide a meeting place for families, children, adults, and newcomers, while developing activities that encourage the discovery of the world’s languages, cultures, and histories. Through regular programming and local partnerships, the association hopes to help strengthen social cohesion, celebrate linguistic diversity, and create a sustainable cultural hub for the community.
Your project in detail:
Nyon is a dynamic and international city, home to many families from diverse backgrounds. However, spaces dedicated to informal gatherings, shared reading, and cultural integration remain limited. Pages – La Bibliothèque du Monde addresses this need by offering a simple, accessible, and welcoming space—complementary to existing institutions—that fosters social cohesion at the neighborhood and municipal levels. The project is first and foremost a cultural gathering place, not a traditional library. It is aimed at a broad and diverse audience: families, children, youth, adults, newcomers, multilingual readers, schools, and local organizations. The association will develop accessible, intergenerational, and multicultural activities: • read-alouds and storytelling for children in multiple languages. • workshops for exploring languages and cultures. • shared reading sessions for families and adults. • community gatherings and intercultural exchanges. • seasonal events centered on books, creativity, and knowledge-sharing. Pages – La Bibliothèque du Monde is, above all, an invitation to come together, share, and grow together through words, stories, and cultures.
Amount requested to carry out the project (max. CHF 20,000, budget to be detailed in the designated file):
