Rives - La Grande Jetée
Inaugurated in June 2018 in Nyon, La Grande Jetée is a gathering place on the shores of Lake Geneva that includes a playground, refreshment stands, and sports facilities. It offers a glimpse into the future redevelopment of the lake’s shores.
The shores of the lake, from Colovray to the mouth of the Asse River on the Lausanne side, are the focus of an ambitious redevelopment project. The goal is to make the shores of Lake Geneva more accessible, but also to bring them to life.
While awaiting these major developments, the City decided to take action. That is why, in 2018, a participatory project gave a new look to part of these riverbanks with the creation of a playful, intergenerational public space named Grande Jetée. Its playground, refreshment stands, and sports facilities have not only brought this previously underutilized area back to the heart of community life but have also offered a glimpse of what the lake’s shores might look like in the future.
Since then, field observations and surveys have been used to gather the public’s opinions on this space, with the aim of adapting it and informing discussions about the final development plan.

How to get there?
Take bus 811 toward Gland and get off at the “Usine à Gaz” stop. Head to the lakeshore and walk along it toward Lausanne—you’ve arrived! La Grande Jetée is a 10-minute walk from the train station.
