The project to redevelop Nyon’s lakeshores is continuing. It will improve public spaces, enhance accessibility to the lakeshores, restore the lakeshores to their natural state, and integrate the area’s rich heritage. To ensure this transformation best meets the needs of Nyon’s residents, a participatory approach is guiding the process. This approach is structured around four key phases:
Interviews with key neighborhood stakeholders between June and September 2024
Two exploratory walks with residents between September and October 2004
Two participatory evening events between October and November 2004
A presentation of the findings from this first phase of the initiative on February 10, 2025
The workshops brought together more than 100 residents and generated numerous ideas for the future of this iconic site. The 63 proposals resulting from the participatory process were summarized in a citizen usage handbook. These contributions informed the development of the guiding vision that will shape the area’s future.
A second phase of the initiative is currently underway with a follow-up group.
