Gare Nord, Martinet, and En Prélaz

A joint participatory process took place for three projects north of the railroad tracks. The new neighborhoods of Martinet and En Prélaz, along with the redevelopment of the area north of the train station, will provide housing, public spaces, a tree-lined plaza, services, and activities, offering an opportunity to enliven and strengthen neighborhood life.

Although these three projects have their own development plans and timelines, given their proximity, the City wanted to ensure territorial coherence within this area. This will make it possible to connect neighborhoods and public infrastructure through mobility routes, design attractive and diverse public spaces, strengthen the existing green network, and foster a vibrant neighborhood life.

In 2025, street interviews made it possible to connect with residents and users spontaneously in their everyday living environments. An urban walk followed by a participatory evening event, open to everyone, took place on May 27 and provided an opportunity to gather participants’ expectations, needs, and concerns.

More recently, a debriefing session presented the results of the participatory process, how participants’ feedback was incorporated into the project, and the future of the En Prélaz sector.
